MRS. JESSICA RYDER, MA, THERAPIST
Jessica Ryder is a Licensed Resident in Counseling who holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Cumberlands, as well as a Bachelors of Science Degree in Psychology from Fort Hays State University.
She firmly believes in the saying, “He who has a ‘why’ to live for can bear almost any ‘how’”. Jessica describes herself as empathetic, compassionate, open minded, culturally sensitive, and encouraging. She is engaging, and has a natural ability at helping clients feel at ease. Jessica applies a holistic approach to healing which includes incorporating the mind, body and spirit in to her work with clients. She believes that every person has an internal capacity for healing, meaning, and positive change.
Jessica additionally believes that whatever we bury, we bury alive. She works with clients to rebuild from a place of internal peace and strength by addressing the hurts and fear we hold deep within. Jessica wants to reignite hope and empower you to narrate your own story while changing any maladaptive thoughts/behaviors.
Her clinical areas of interest include: trauma, depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, family conflict, self esteem issues, parenting stress, lack of assertiveness, boundary issues, general life stress, and autism. She is especially passionate about clients whose children have special needs. Jessica is also fluent in Arabic.
